Worcestershire Under-19s went down by five wickets to Northamptonshire Under-19s in a two-day, two innings match at Stourbridge.

The home side won the toss and totalled 254 from 60 overs in their first innings with wicket-keeper Ben Tegg top-scoring with 72 from 89 balls with 11 fours.

Williams (5-63 off 18 overs) and Lloyd (3-63 off 17 overs) were then Worcestershire's most successful bowlers as Northants reached 272-9 declared in their first innings.

Jack Charters (1-27) was the other wicket-taker while Ben Claydon top-scored with 77.

In their second innings, Worcestershire scored runs down the order via Freddie Wynn (34), Jake Cartwright (25), Jujhar Johal (30), Deon Patel (26), Tegg (22), Dudley (24), Liam Smith (16) and Lloyd (12).

But the leading run-getter was Williams who took advantage of some 'friendly' bowling after an agreement between the two captains to set a target.

He hit 71 not out off 34 balls with two sixes and 12 fours. Opening batsman Matthew Plater finished 3-97 from just seven overs and Taylor 2-31.

Northants were left to chase a 262 total and thanks again to Claydon (64) and Plater (59), who put on 124 for the first wicket, 61 from Charlie Horne and 36 not out from Will Thomas they reached their target.

Williams finished with 2-70 to give him seven wickets in the match, Dom Badger (2-33) and Lloyd (1-41).
