Moeen Ali earned praise from skipper Eoin Morgan after picking up three wickets in three overs to complete England's 84 run win over Pakistan in Dubai which enabled them to triumph 3-1 in the One-Day International series.
The Worcestershire all-rounder dismissed Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah and Anwar Ali in quick succession as Pakistan were bowled out for 271 in 40.4 overs in reply to England's 355-5 in which Jason Roy and Jos Buttler scored hundreds.
Moeen's first spell of six overs cost 39 runs and he saw Alex Hales spill a chance at deep mid wicket offered by Babar Azam off his bowling before the ball raced over the boundary line.
Fellow spinner Adil Rashid picked up three wickets and then Moeen got in on the act when he returned for a second spell.
The 28-year-old held onto a low return catch offered by Riaz (1) in his eighth over – and then in his next Shah (5) perished to Chris Woakes at wide long on.
Moeen ended the contest in his final over when Ali (24) was caught low down at cover by Rashid.
He finished with figures of 3-53 from 9.4 overs to follow on from his tight spell of 1-30 from 10 overs in the third ODI in Sharjah.
Morgan said: "Our spinners haven't let us down in this series. Today was no different and Mo and Adil were brilliant.
"They are growing the more they play. They are learning as they go along which is very important."
Moeen will now turn his attention to three T20 internationals against Pakistan but next on the agenda is a warm-up game against a UAE X1 in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
