Ben Twohig picked up three wickets and skipper Ollie Westbury hit an unbeaten half century as Worcestershire Seconds four-day friendly with Gloucestershire Seconds at Cheltenham College ended in a draw.
Rain had the final say as Worcestershire, who had been set a 299 target by the host side, ended on 107-1.
Westbury, who had scored a century for the Seconds on the ground in 2016 and 2017, ended undefeated on 61 from 102 balls with eight boundaries.
After the early departure of George Rhodes, Westbury and triallist Joe Barrett shared in an unbroken partnership of 105.
Barrett finished unbeaten on 42 from 106 balls with five boundaries before rain led to an early finish.
Earlier spinners Twohig and Rhodes had enjoyed the most success after Gloucestershire had resumed on 74-2.
They picked up five of the six wickets to fall today before the declaration at 234-8 from 53.3 overs.
Grant Thornton claimed the first success of the day to end with 2-60 and then Twohig (3-40 from 14.3 overs) and Rhodes (2-34 from seven overs) got amongst the wickets.
*The Seconds will now be hoping local rivals Warwickshire do them a favour tomorrow – and enable seal their place in the 50 over Trophy semi-finals on June 15.
They will book their spot in the last four if MCC Young Cricketers – the only side now who could overhaul them in second spot – fail to win at Edgbaston.
Durham went down by three wickets to Nottinghamshire today to end their chances of over-taking coach Alex Gidman’s side.
