Tom Kohler-Cadmore enjoyed a rare success with the ball but may need to play another major role with the bat if Penrith Panthers are to be successful in their two-day clash with home side Gordon.
The Worcestershire batsman bowled 12 overs at a cost of 43 runs which brought him the wicket of J. Colley after he had made a quickfire 73.
Kohler-Cadmore held onto a return catch after Colley had hit one six and 11 fours in his 79 ball knock.
But Gordon were still able to register a formidable 308-8 from 96 overs on day one of the Sydney Grade Cricket first grade match.
A fine 105 off 214 balls with 13 boundaries from W. Smith enabled Gordon to capitalise on opting to bat after winning the toss in a match which will be concluded next weekend.
Kohler-Cadmore has already helped Penrith to chase down two 300 plus targets to achieve victory since he linked up with the club in early October.
The former Malvern College pupil scored exactly 50 when Penrith scored 379 to defeat Eastern Suburbs.
Then Kohler-Cadmore followed that up with 126 in a successful pursuit of 326 to overcome Mosman.
