Josh Tongue has been named in the England Lions squad for the one-off ‘Test’ against Pakistan A in Abu Dhabi in November.

But the Worcestershire paceman’s inclusion is subject to medical clearance after he sustained a foot injury during the current Specsavers County Championship match with Yorkshire at Blackfinch New Road.

Tongue, who has taken 40 Championship wickets this season, is undergoing an MRI scan to assess the extent of the damage.

The 20-year-old was also selected for the Lions tour of the West Indies last winter but had to withdraw because of an ankle injury.

The four-day game with Pakistan ‘A’ will take place from November 18-21.

Joe Clarke has also been named in the Test squad plus the party for five ODIs and two T20s against the same opposition.
