Tongue, Twohig And Dell To Link Up With England Edp Squad

Young Worcestershire trio Josh Tongue, Ben Twohig and Josh Dell will feature in their third and final England Development Programme training camp of the winter next week.

Tongue, Twohig and Dell have been part of a post 2016 World Cup group of players being put through their paces at the National Centre Of Excellence.

They will meet up on Thursday (March 31) for a three-day get together.

Tongue and Twohig are in their first year as full-time professionals at New Road while Dell is part of the County's flourishing Academy for 2015-2016.

Academy coach Elliot Wilson said: "The three of them have done a couple of camps at Loughborough and they've got one more coming up on March 31, April 1, 2. It has been a very enjoyable experience to be part of.

"A lot of the guys who went to the World Cup won't be involved this summer and these guys have got a chance of being involved in the Under-19 Series this summer (against Sri Lanka).

"Hopefully that will run alongside their commitments at Worcester and their push for second team and first team cricket because they are all high quality cricketers."

Tongue and Twohig were part of the County's squad for the pre-season trip to Abu Dhabi and both were given a chance to show their potential by being selected for match action by Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes.

Wilson said: "They have fitted in really well. The lads have welcomed them with open arms and they have not looked out of place from a cricketing perspective with bat or ball.

"Steve and the coaching team are very happy with them."
