Two Wickets Apiece For Rhodes And Malik As Seconds Lead By 110

Worcestershire Seconds hold a 110 run lead with all second innings wickets intact heading into the final day of the Championship clash with Warwickshire Seconds at RGS Worcester.

Coach Kevin Sharp's side collected 37 runs from six overs this morning before declaring on 347-8 in their first innings.

Warwickshire replied with 253-4 before declaring 94 runs behind and then Worcestershire scored 16-0 when they batted again.

Worcestershire resumed on 310-7 from 105 overs and Ben Twohig advanced his overnight score by seven runs before he was lbw to Grant Thornton for 25.

Keeper Joe Dodd remained unbeaten on 20 before the declaration.

Warwickshire openers, skipper Andy Umeed and Ian Westwood, figured in a stand of 72 before home captain George Rhodes made a double breakthrough.

He had Umeed (45) and Westwood (52) both caught at first slip by Ross Whiteley.

Matthew Lamb was forced to retire on 13 after inside-edging a delivery from Alex Hepburn onto a toe.

Ateeq Javid and Sam Hain added 80 after Lamb's retirement with the total on 146 before they both became victims of Zen Malik.

Javid was lbw for 68 and Hain on 45 holed out to Alexei Kervezee at deep mid wicket before the declaration.

Rhodes and Westbury, who put on 131 in the first innings, safely negotiated six overs before the close.
