Twohig Handed England Under-19S Debut In One-Day Clash At Chelmsford

Worcestershire spinner Ben Twohig was today handed his England Under-19s debut in the Royal London One-Day Series clash with Sri Lanka Under-19s at Chelmsford.

Twohig becomes the fourth Worcestershire player to receive an Under-19s cap this summer.

Opener Ollie Westbury and middle order batsman Josh Dell both played in the two match 'Test' series at Fenners and Northampton.

Then Dell and Zen Malik were selected for the first One-Day Series encounter with the Sri Lankans at Wormsley which was won by the tourists.

Twohig last month signed a three year contract with the County until the end of the 2019 campaign.

England were also boosted by the availability of Nottinghamshire’s Tom Moores, as they aim to square the series.

Twohig joins Somerset’s off-spinning all-rounder Dom Bess, who was the pick of England’s attack in the opening match, with captain Max Holden offering a third spin option.

England won the toss and chose to bat.
