VACANCY | DIGITAL MARKETING APPRENTICE

worcestershire county cricket club is one of the 18 major county clubs which make up the england and wales cricket board.  we play to the highest level of professional cricket with a history stretching back over 160 years and are based at the iconic New Road ground. our New Road venue is also year round corporate venue hosting concerts,christmas parties, conferences & events.

we are currently looking to recruit a full time digital marketing apprentice to work as part of a small team with a view to starting as soon as possible. this apprenticeship is 15 months in length and will give you a level 3 digital marketer standard with training in areas such as:

functional skills, maths l2 and english l2
principles of coding
marketing principles
digital marketing business principles with e-commerce
video & imaging software

a key element of the role will be supporting the marketing manager and the other members of the commercial team. the primary role of the digital marketing apprentice is to define, design, build and implement digital campaigns across a variety of online and social media platforms to drive customer acquisition, customer engagement and customer retention.

key responsibilities:

working alongside the marketing manager to deliver the social media strategy across all channels
to increase business activity by developing and implementing effective social media campaigns
to manage and grow the social media communities, including but not limited to twitter, facebook, instagram, linkedin and youtube
write engaging content for a variety of audiences that is consistent with brand guidelines
day to day output on social media, ensuring all content is delivered in the appropriate manner and accuracy. this will include monitoring and responding where necessary
to act as a contact for social media, contributing new ideas for process and best practice
review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing
working with the marketing manager to help produce branded collateral
build a regular and engaging email marketing programme
support with attending events to promote the company

person specification:

eligible for an apprenticeship
demonstrate a genuine interest in marketing, design, media, creative, digital, pr, and/or communications
evidence commitment to, or a desire for self-development
have a good level of of numeracy and literacy
possess a proactive attitude, be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure and have a professional outlook
be committed to the programme for 15 months
show good time-keeping, attendance and have a professional attitude
be ready to start the position from march 2020

desired qualifications:

3 x gcse (or equivalent) at grades 9-5 in any subject, plus gcse english at grade 6 or above and maths (or equivalents) at grade 5 or above.

note

due to the nature of the business some weekend and evening work is likely to be required as part of the role.
