Riki Wessels magnificent display of hitting against Derbyshire Falcons meant he ended the North Group campaign with the highest strike rate by a Worcestershire Rapids player in the Royal London One-Day Cup.

The 33-year-old scored 297 runs to finish as the Rapids second highest scorer behind Hamish Rutherford.
Wessels will head into tomorrow’s home quarter-final against Somerset with a strike rate of 144.17.

Callum Ferguson topped the Rapids batting averages after his century against the Falcons – as was the case last summer for the Australian player.

Ross Whiteley (257), Ben Cox (213) and Tom Fell (198) were the other major run scorers in the 50 over competition.
Wayne Parnell ended the competition as the Rapids leading wicket-taker with 19 victims.

Charlie Morris was the other main contributor with the ball with his 10 wickets.

Daryl Mitchell had the best economy rate of bowlers used on a regular basis during the competition, conceding just 5.03 runs per over.
