Ollie Westbury switched from two-day to 50 over mode and played another important role for Grafton United in their four wicket win over East Coast Bays in the Jeff Crowe Cup in Auckland.
The Worcestershire batsman had been his side’s leading scorer in the opening three rounds of the Tom Hellaby competition at an average of 51.
Today Westbury was second top scorer with 40 and featured in the crucial stand of Grafton’s successful pursuit of a 170 target.
The County’s Academy product came in at number three and struck three fours in his 63 ball knock, adding 82 for the third wicket with Jack Parsons (47).
He was third out at 129-3 in the 32nd over and Grafton surpassed East Coast Bays total of 169 all out, from 47.5 overs, with 7.4 overs to spare.
George Rhodes’ side, Onslow, went down by four wickets to Victoria University in a low-scoring encounter in the Ewen Chatfield Trophy.
Onslow were bowled out for 110 in 37 overs with Rhodes, batting at number three, dismissed for 11 off 22 balls.
The Worcestershire all-rounder did not bowl as Victoria reached 111-6 in 26.3 overs.
Ed Barnard’s side, Scarborough, lost out in the battle for first innings points on day two of the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade clash with visiting Claremont-Nedlands.
The Worcestershire all-rounder had struck a half century last weekend when Scarborough were bowled out for 255 in 78.3 overs.
But a fourth wicket stand of 153 between Nicholas Hobson (105) and Bradley Hope, unbeaten on 85, saw their opponents overtake that total with five wickets in hand.
