Westbury Top Scores But Hay Park Beaten After Fine Murray Goodwin Knock

Worcestershire CCC Academy opener Ollie Westbury top-scored for Hay Park but a fine knock from former Zimbabwe Test batsman Murray Goodwin meant they lost on first innings to home side Colts in the Bunbury and District Association first grade competition.

Westbury scored 36 as Hay Park were restricted to 123-7 in 37 overs with Rob Knoll (35) the other main contributor.

Colts also lost wickets steadily but Goodwin, who played for Sussex and latterly Glamorgan, remained unbeaten on 82 as they reached 137-6 in 33 overs by the close.

Westbury picked up one wicket and conceded 22 runs in his three overs.

Worcestershire all-rounder Alex Hepburn suffered the frustration of a TREBLE wash-out with Willetton Dragons this weekend.

Day two of the Western Australian Cricket Association first grade match with Gosnells fell victim to the weather with Willetton having scored 304 all out on the opening day.

Then today's intended double header in the WACA Statewide T20 qualifying competition suffered the same fate.

The matches with Mount Lawley and Joondalup at the Breckler Park were both called off.

Willetton won their opening game in the four-team competition against South Perth in mid November.
