Whiteley Geared Up For Start Of Pakistan Super League

Ross Whiteley is gearing up for a possible 13 T20 matches in 31 days as part of the Multan Sultans squad competing in the Pakistan Super League.

The Worcestershire all-rounder has linked up with his team-mates ahead of the opening group match against Peshawar Zalmi tomorrow (February 22).

The Sultans will play 10 group matches with seven of the games taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The other three group matches are being held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

The six teams will play each other twice in the group stages with the top four qualifying for the knockout stages.

If Whiteley and his team-mates go through, they will face a possible one or two matches (details below) to qualify for the final in Karachi on March 25.

His team mates will include Kumar Sangakkara, Shoaib Malik, who is captaining the Sultans, Darren Bravo and Imran Tahir.

Whiteley will then head for home to join Worcestershire’s ongoing preparations for the 2018 season.

March 13 – Islamabad United (Sharjah CS)


March 18 – Qualifier 1: Team 1 v Team 2 (Dubai ICS)

March 20 – Eliminator: Team 3 v Team 4 (Lahore)

March 21 – Qualifier 2: Loser of Qualifier 1 v Winner of Eliminator (Lahore)

March 25 – FINAL: Winner of Qualifier 1 v Winner of Qualifier 2 (Karachi)
