Whiteley And Sixers Aiming To Bounce Back After Losing Top Spot

Ross Whiteley’s side Sylhet Sixers face a crucial match in their bid to qualify for the knockout stages of the Bangladesh Premier League later today.

The Worcestershire all-rounder and the Sixers were the early pace-setters after winning their opening three matches in impressive fashion at their own stadium.

But their fortunes have reversed since switching to play in Dhaka and they have collected just one point from four games – via a wash-out.

It means the Sixers have slipped down to fourth spot in the table – two points behind leaders and reigning champions Dhaka Dynamites.

Today’s match is against the current bottom placed side Rangpur Riders – also in Dhaka – and play gets underway at 12 noon GMT time

Whiteley is hoping to earn a recall after being one of three changes made for the Sixers last outing against Rajshahi Kings on Friday.

The 29-year-old had been selected for the opening six matches in the tournament.
