Worcestershire Seconds conceded a first innings lead of 24 before spinners Ben Twohig and George Rhodes collected two wickets apiece on the third day of the four-day match with Hampshire Seconds at Kidderminster. 

Worcestershire resumed on 74-2 but lost their last eight wickets for 63 runs as they were bowled out for 137.

Twohig and Rhodes then both enjoyed a double success but Hampshire opener Tom Alsop hit 89 to help his side to 211-4 by the close – a lead of 235.

Opener Ollie Westbury (28) and Alex Hepburn (23) were the main contributors with the bat for Worcestershire today.

Spinner Danny Briggs finished with 3-17 for the visitors.

When Hampshire batted for a second time, it was Rhodes who bowled Alsop when 11 runs short of his hundred.

He hit 13 fours in his 92 ball innings.

Rhodes ended with 2-44 from 11 overs and Twohig 2-67 from 14 overs before bad light halted play with 12 overs remaining.
