Ben Cox's two defiant knocks against Essex at Chelmsford took him past the 600 run mark in Specsavers County Championship cricket this summer.
The Worcestershire wicket-keeper has been nicknamed 'Mr Reliable' by Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes and has constantly demonstrated his ability to eke out runs when they are most needed.
Cox has followed up last season's excellent tally of 758 runs in Division One – second only at New Road to Tom Fell – in impressive style in addition to again being a model of consistency behind the stumps.
He has put himself in strong contention to be amongst the candidates for the County's Players' Player Of The Year award.
George Rhodes has also made a promising start to his Championship career, proving difficult to dislodge and making several useful contributions, in accumulating 228 runs at an average of 38.00.
Joe Clarke needs 58 more runs to become the first Worcestershire player to top 1,000 Championship runs this summer.
On the bowling front, Joe Leach continues to lead the way with 53 Championship wickets and needs six more from the final two games to equal last season's tally.
He is also approaching the 500 run mark and, like Cox and Ed Barnard, has made important lower order contributions.
