Worcs Ccc Quartet In Bunbury Festival T20 Action

Four Worcestershire CCC players were part of the Midlands side beaten by three wickets in a T20 match at the ESCA Under-15s Bunbury Cricket Festival at Stowe School.

The Midlands were put into bat and totalled 143-7 in their 20 overs – a target which their opponents overhauled with one over to spare.

Alex Hinkley, who hit a half century in the win over South-West the previous day, went in at number three for the Midlands and put on 41 for the second wicket with J. Evison (50).

He was second out at 83 in the 11th over after making 11 off 14 balls but the innings lost momentum after that and Dan Holland, who had struck a valuable 35 against South-West, was dismissed for a third ball duck.

Pete Clark took the new ball and he followed up his 3-17 in 10 overs against South-West by returning the highly respectable figures of 0-25 from his four overs.

Lewis Evans claimed a late wicket in his one over which cost 12 runs and Holland brought about a run out.

Holland and Hinkley are part of Worcestershire CCC's Under-15 age group programme and EDP programme.

Clark and Evans are part of the County's satellite Shropshire academy which is run by former County paceman Paul Pridgeon.

The Bunbury Festival will showcase the skills of 56 of the most talented England Under-15 players in the country.
