Worcs Ccc To Play T20 Games As Part Of Stourbridge Cc’s 175Th Anniversary

Worcestershire CCC will form part of Stourbridge CC's 175th anniversary celebrations by participating in two T20 matches at their Memorial Ground headquarters on Wednesday (July 5).

A Worcestershire Legends X1 will take on Stourbridge CC at 1pm and will feature a host of ex Worcestershire players.

Martin Weston, Richard Stemp, current bowling coach Matt Mason, Chris Tolley, Graeme Cessford, Matt Pardoe, Chris Russell, Neil Pinner and Shaaiq Choudhry are amongst those earmarked to play, with the side managed by Paul Pridgeon.

Then at 5.30pm the current Worcestershire CCC side will do battle with a Stourbridge Invitational X1.

In addition to celebrating Stourbridge's 175th anniversary, the match will provide the Worcestershire players with valuable T20 practice ahead of the NatWest T20 Blast programme.

They have played a fixture against Shropshire at the same juncture of the season in recent years.

Worcestershire have strong links with Stourbridge who staged a County Championship match each season for many years and now Second Eleven Cricket has returned to the Memorial Ground.

The admission price is £5 for adults and £2 for eight-16 year-olds.

An optional two course meal is also available at £25 per head.

The Rapids will play host to Birmingham Bears in the sold out T20 Bast opener at New Road on July 7.
