RAPIDS BLAST SIGNING GUPTILL SUFFERS INJURY IN BLACK CAPS TRIUMPH

worcestershire rapids 2019 vitality blast overseas player, martin guptill, picked up an injury during new zealand’s four wicket triumph in the second t20i against sri lanka in pallekele.

the opening batsman had to leave the field during the closing stages of the sri lankan innings.

cricket new zealand confirmed 32-year-old guptill had “injured one of his right abdominal muscles.”

he did not take his accustomed place at the top of the order although cricket new zealand said he was “available to bat if needed.”
