TURNER TOP SCORES BUT SCORCHERS LOSE ON BOXING DAY

Ashton Turner top-scored for Perth Scorchers but was on the losing side in a Big Bash League Boxing Day encounter with visiting Sydney Sixers.

Worcestershire Rapids 2020 Vitality Blast signing made 28 off 20 balls with one six and three fours.

He came in at number six at 34-4 in the sixth over and was seventh out with the total on 82.

It was another change of position for Turner who had batted at number four in the opening two games and then first wicket down in the third match.

Turner and his team-mates were bowled out for 126 in 18.1 overs to lose by 46 runs.

It means they have been beaten in three of their opening four BBL games and are currently lying seventh in the eight team table.

Sydney had been put into bat and totalled 174-7 in their 20 overs.

England and Surrey all-rounder Tom Curran top-scored with 43 not out from 21 balls and he won the man of the match award.
